Qualifications

Yes, having educational qualifications is important. But, also having the personal interest and self-taught skills can allow you to understand the world that you want to work in, a lot more than a classroom can.

Having a degree allows you to understand the core facts of the Fashion Promotion industry. But having some experience gives you a USP that is very hard to compete with. Which is why at University taking the opportunities that help you get onto internships is key. As these types of opportunities and help seminars are hard to find elsewhere. It will then enable you to become familiar with the industry that you are about to enter into. Also understand the extra mile you may have to go, in order to empress existing employers.

Attitudes

Your attitude and how positive you come across is key when starting in a new environment. It is so important that you understand what is expected of you, and are willing to carry out all tasks that are assigned to you. Once you understand your position you will instantly have approachable ora, and intern you will be trusted with more important tasks. Finally, two other attitudes are key when trying to become a professional, and they are being passionate and determined. These again go back to being willing to do whatever it takes to get where you want to be, and ensuring that you carry out each task with 100% enthusiasm!
